WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The Columbia College Cougars triumphed over Williams Baptist with an 81-75 victory on Monday night, capturing their fourth consecutive American Midwest Conference (AMC) title and ninth overall. In doing so, the Cougars made history as the first-ever team, men or women, to secure four consecutive AMC Basketball Tournament championships.

- Columbia snapped a 22-win streak for Williams Baptist
- The Cougars move to 9-8 all-time in championship game while the Eagles is now 0-2 all-time in the championship game
- #1-seed is now 20-5 all-time in the championship game, winning 15 of the last 18 title
- Mallory Shetley led the Cougars with 25 points, and 16 of those points were in the fourth quarter
- Carmen Taylor and Kaylee Isaacs led the Eagles with 17 points each
- Lexi Miller of Columbia scored her 1000th career-point with 8:33 left in the first quarter
- Monica Horne posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, and Sara Crowe finished the game with 10 points off the bench
- Ashtyn Klusmeyer added 10 points and five blocks off the bench for the Cougars. Abby Backed dished out 10 assists
- Columbia won the rebound battle pulled down 46 boards and blocked a total of 10 shots
- The Cougars shot 48 percent from the field, 26 percent from deep and 67 percent from the free-throw line. Williams Baptist shot 41 percent from the field, 37 percent from deep and 93 percent from the free-throw line
- Columbia defeated Missouri Baptist and Mission on the road to the finals while Williams Baptist earned victories over Central Baptist and Stephens
The Cougars and the Eagles earned an automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament. The first and second rounds will take place on March 14 and 15 at campus sites. Both teams will learn their first-round opponent during the NAIA Women’s Basketball Selection Show on Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m. on the NAIA Network.
