St. Louis, Mo. – (Tournament Page| Bracket) Columbia College, the #1-seed, and Williams Baptist University, the #3-seed, will meet in the Championship game of the 2024 American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women’s Basketball Tournament presented by Tandem HR following their victories on Saturday in the semifinals.
Game 1: (3) Williams Baptist def. (2) Stephens, 102-88 Box Score
- The Eagles are the first team to surpass 100 points in the AMC Tournament since Columbia in 2011 (100-59 vs. Harris-Stowe in quarterfinals).
- All five Williams Baptist starters finished in double figures led by Carmen Taylor;s 26 points and Taylor Hooten’s 25 points.
- Williams Baptist’s Sarah Crowe registered a double-double (14 points – 11 rebounds)
- Stephens was led by Chu Crockett, who finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists.
- Marveen Ross also posted a double-double for the Stars (18 points-10 rebounds).
- Williams Baptist is making its first finals appearance in the AMC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Game 2: (1) Columbia def. (4) Health Sciences and Pharmacy, 70-62 Box Score
- Mallory Shetley led the Cougars with 34 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.
- DeLaney Horstman registered a double-double for Columbia (15 points – 14 rebounds) and had three blocks.
- Grace Beyer ended her illustrious career at Health Sciences and Pharmacy with team-high 35 points and 12 rebounds to go along with five assists. She finishes her record setting career with 3961 points, the most in NAIA women’s basketball history.
- Samantha Matthews helped the Eutectics with 19 points (7-12).
- Columbia is looking to become first school to win three consecutive Tournament championships, as they make sixth title game appearance in the last seven years.
