AMC Cheer Athletes of the Week- Week 3

St. Louis, Mo. - Missouri Baptist University's Sophia Welch (Stunter) and William Woods University's Sara Johnson (Tumbler) have been selected as the American Midwest Conference Competitive Cheer Athletes of the Week. They were selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performance from Feb. 5-11 and chosen through a vote of the AMC competitive cheer coaches.
AMC Stunter of the Week
Sophia Welch, Missouri Baptist

• Scored 24.70 stunt points.
• Earned 10.90 points on execution and 13.6 points for difficulty.
• Increased her difficulty in baskets. Moved from a tuck X to a full twisting layout.
• Helped Missouri Baptist increase difficulty score to 4-5-point range, first time since 2022.
• First Stunter of the Week honor.
