2026 AMC Men’s Basketball Tournament Day One Recap

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – (Tournament Page) Top seeds prevailed on Day One of the 2026 AMC Men's Basketball Tournament at the W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse, hosted by Mission University.

Columbia and Hannibal-LaGrange now await the winners of Central Baptist vs. Crowley's Ridge and Williams Baptist vs. Mission, respectively.

Game One: Columbia def. Health Sciences & Pharmacy, 98-55 (BOX SCORE)

• Five players for the Cougars record double-digit points: Max Rieger, Jemeal Goines, Adam Sausele, Marcelous Phillips and AJ Walker.
• Rieger exploded off the bench with a game-high 20 points, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and a 5-for-6 from three-point range.
• Goines recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, adding a block.
• Landon Engelage led the Eutectics with 15 points, knocking down 3-of-6 from three-point range.
• Brennen Walker added 8 points and a team-high seve rebounds.

Game Two: Hannibal-LaGrange def. Harris-Stowe, 70-57 (BOX SCORE)

• Ian McDonald led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. He added nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
• Davaughn Hueitt scored 15 points with a perfect 7-for-7 performance at the free-throw line. He blocked six shots and pulled down six rebounds.
• Josiah Talton came off the bench with nine points, knocking down two three-pointers, while Josh Talton added nine points and four steals.
• Nashawn Davis led Harris-Stowe with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting. He added eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
• Umar Lawson added 11 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.
• Dimitrije Stojanovic chipped in seven points and grabbed five rebounds with two steals and a block.
