2025 Men's Golf Championship Preview
MELBOURNE, Ark. - (CHAMPIONSHIP PAGE) The 2025 American Midwest Conference Men's Golf Championship will take place at Cooper's Hawk Golf Club in Melbourne, Arkansas, beginning Monday, May 5. The 54-hole tournament will feature golfers from nine schools, with tee times starting at 9 a.m. on Monday and a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Participating schools include Central Baptist, Columbia, Crowley's Ridge, Hannibal-LaGrange, Mission, Missouri Baptist, Health Sciences & Pharmacy, William Woods, Williams Baptist.
ABOUT THE TEAMS
- Columbia is aiming for its third consecutive AMC Men's Golf Championship title.
- William Woods, which holds an AMC-best 14 men's golf championships, is seeking its first tournament win since 2021.
- Central Baptist captured two tournament victories this season, winning both the Williams Baptist Fall Invitational and the Central Baptist Fall Invitational.
- The Cougars of Columbia recorded top-five finishes in eight of its nine events this season.
- Crowley's Ridge recorded team scores in three different events.
- Hannibal-LaGrange secured six top-10 finishes throughout the season.
- Mission finished in the top 10 on four occasions.
- The Spartans of Missouri Baptist won the Conference Clash and added three additional top-five finishes.
- UHSP's best result came at the Wildcat Fall Classic, where it placed second; the team also earned eight more top-15 finishes during the season.
- William Woods had a dominant season, winning eight tournament titles and earning four additional top-five finishes.
- Williams Baptist achieved five top-five finishes over the course of the season.
ABOUT THE GOLFERS
- Columbia has placed three golfers in the top nine in stroke average in the conference (Sean Minor 1st - 72.3, Pedro Marchioni 4th - 73.8, Landon Mabe T-9th - 75.8)
- William Woods' Spencer Worley is second in the league in stroke average at 72.5, while Liam Toole is third at 73.6. Jose Monge is ranked fifth at 74.3, followed by Tim Falk in eighth at 75.6 and Brayden Buffington tied at 9th at 75.8.
- Missouri Baptist's Luke Gardner is in sixth-place at 74.9.
- Central Baptist's Jakub Slapal is tied at seventh with 75.3 in stroke average.
TOP RETURNING PLAYERS
- Five out of last year's top 10 finishers return in this year's tournament.
- AMC Player of the Year Sean Minor and Freshman of the Year Blake Sykes both return for Columbia.
- AMC Newcomer of the Year Sam Beggs is back for Missouri Baptist.
- Jakub Salapal (T-8th) returns for Central Baptist.
- Pedro Marchioni (T-6th) return for Columbia.
- Spencer Worley (T-6th) and Brayden Buffington (10th) return for William Woods.
ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP
- The AMC Championship will take place at Cooper's Hawk Golf Club in Melbourne, Ark. for the first time in tournament history.
