Harris-Stowe Claims First AMC Men’s Tournament Trophy Since 1999

COLUMBIA, Mo. – For the first time since 1999—and only the second time in program history—the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets have claimed the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Men's Soccer Tournament Championship.
Game Five: Harris-Stowe def. Columbia, 2-1 BOX SCORE
- Joshua Peterson in the 12th minute for the Cougars assisted by Faraj Shee.
- In the 49th minute, the Hornets tied the game with a goal from Alexis Santillan.
- Mario De la Fuente netted the Hornets' second goal in the 84th minute to win the championship match.
- Matheus Pereira da Silva (7-4-2) earned the win in goal. He stopped six shots in between posts.
- The Cougars outshot the Hornets, 22-13.
With the victory, the Hornets advance to the NAIA Men's Soccer First and Second Rounds, which will be held at campus sites from Nov. 20-22. The selection show is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. on the NAIA YouTube channel.
