2025 AMC Indoor T&F Championship Preview

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Coach Crafton Center in Elsah, Ill. Field events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw and high jump, and men's pole vault and long jump. The distance medley relay gets the running events started with the women at 11:45 a.m. and the men at 12:05 p.m.

Participating teams include: Central Baptist College, Columbia College, Cottey College (women only), Hannibal-LaGrange University, Harris-Stowe State University, Haskell Indian Nations University, Missouri Baptist University, University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy, William Woods University and Williams Baptist University.

Women's Notes:

• 13 individuals return to defend their 2024 title - Cottey's Hannah Hayduk (400m) and Madalenn Fee (600m), Hannibal LaGrange's Kaylyn Powers (weight throw and shot put), Health Sciences & Pharmacy's Taylor Washington (60h and high jump), Missouri Baptist's Mia Reed (mile and 1000m), Adrienne Rockette (800m), Alaina Scott (pole vault) and Julianne Hansen (200m), William Woods' Mekayla Gibson (5000m and 3000m).
• Duncan was named last year's Co-Athlete of the Meet and Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet, behind a two-time champion in the mile and three-time champion in the 1000-meter run.

• Defending team champion Missouri Baptist, secured the title last year, edging out William Woods by 16 points (170-154). All-time William Woods has a Conference-best 74 individuals and relays champion, followed by Missouri Baptist with 69.

• Columbia boasts the highest number of returning athletes, with 14 individuals who scored points at last year's Championship. Health Sciences & Pharmacy follows closely with 10 scorers back, while William Woods brings back nine. Missouri Baptist will see seven athletes return, with Hannibal-LaGrange and Haskell each returning four, Williams Baptist returning two, and Harris-Stowe bringing back one scorer from the 2024 Championship.

• One AMC Athlete have reached NAIA A-Standard:
  • Alaina Scott, Missouri Baptist - pole vault (3.80m)
• Two AMC Athletes have hit the NAIA B-Standard:
  • Madalenn Fee, Cottey - 800m (2:16.59), 1000m (2:57.96) and mile (5:02.96)
  • Mia Duncan, Missouri Baptist - 1000m (2:58.62)

Men's Notes:

• Four individuals come back to defend their title - Columbia's Bernard Bailey (400m), Connor Diaz (600m) and Brenin Howell (shot put), William Woods' Jamal Jones (triple jump).
• Blaine Brodersen from William Woods was last year's Freshman of the Year behind a third-place in the high jump, fourth-place in the 800-meter run, sixth-place in the 3000-meter run, seventh-place in the mile and was part of the third-place finishing 4x800 relay team.
• Columbia, the defending team champion claimed their second consecutive title and sixth overall, defeating Missouri Baptist by 70.5 points (247.50-177). William Woods holds a Conference-best record with 69 individual and relay championships all-time.
• Columbia returns a Conference-best 25 individuals who scored points for the team at last year's Championship. William Woods has 13 scorers back followed by Missouri Baptist (8 scorers), Hannibal-LaGrange (6 scorers). Williams Baptist and Health Sciences & Pharm each returning two, and Harris-Stowe bringing back one.

• Two AMC Athletes have achieved NAIA B-Standard this season:
  • Kalieb Redda, Columbia - 5000m (14:42.15)
  • Brenin Howell, Columbia - shot put (16.32m)
