AMC Softball Tournament: Day One and Two Recap
BRANSON, Mo. – (Tournament Page) Central Baptist will face Columbia on the winners bracket at 12 p.m. tomorrow while Cottey will take on Williams Baptist on the losers bracket at 2 p.m. at the Branson Rec Plex.
Day One
#1-Williams Baptist def. #8-Stephens, WBU 7-4
- WBU's Kaylee Wolfe, Brooke Scott and Ally Caudle each had two hits. Taylor Youngblood added a homer.
- Elise Kendrick led the Stars with two hits and two RBI. Celeste Athon also recorded two hits.
- Madyson Busselle drove in three runs, while Wolfe drove in two and scored two runs.
- The Eagles outhit the Stars, 11-7.
- Emberlin Caldwell took the win in the circle. In seven innings pitched, she allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out six.
- Katie Dennis pitched 4.0 innings for Stephens. She struck out one while allowing five runs and four runs.
#2-Cottey def. #7-Hannibal-LaGrange, COT 8-0 (5)
- Carissa Camaclang, Grayce Taylor and Halen Hoelzeman each had two hits.
- Taylor drove in three runs while scoring two. Taylor added two runs and two RBI.
- Megan Riggs had the sole hit for the Trojans.
- The Comets outhit the Trojans, 11-1.
- Tatianna Colegrove tossed the complete game, striking out one while allowing only one hit.
- Madyson Klostermann earned the loss on the circle. In 3.0 innings pitched, she struck out one while allowing seven hits and five runs.
#4-Central Baptist def. #5-Mission, CBC 8-0
- Taviah Bradley scored two runs for the Mustangs while hitting a homer. Taylyn Shuffield had two runs and two RBI. Eden East added two hits, while Sydney Weiser had two RBI.
- Apryl Zeno, Courtney Merrell and Mya Frillman each recorded a hit for the Patriots.
- CBC outhit MU, 6-3.
- Hailey Presley of Mission struck out one while allowing six hits and eight runs.
- Ryleigh Keele earned the win in the circle, allowing three hits and five strikeouts.
#3-Columbia def. #6-Health Sciences & Pharmacy, CC 6-2
- Alicia Kimble and Eva Kameoka each added a pair of hits for UHSP. Sydney Hinojosa and Ryleigh Davidson each scored a run.
- Abigail Zismer led the Cougars, going 4-for-4 with one RBI. Taryn Hargadt had one hit and two runs, while Kennedy Schanuth drove in two runs.
- Both teams had eight hits.
- Anna Lucas earned the loss in the circle for UHSP. In 4.2 innings pitched, she allowed six hits, five runs and struck out one.
- Ella Schouten took the win in the circle. In 7.0 innings pitched, she struck out five while allowing eight hits and two runs.
#8-Stephens def. #5-Mission, SC 3-1
- Seven different Stars recorded a hit, while three different stars scored a run (Mylee Hawkins, Elise Kendrick and Addison Flores). Landry Bales drove in two runs.
- Apryl Zeno led the Patriots with two hits and one run, while Jillian McDaniel added two hits.
- Both teams had seven hits.
- Hailey Presley tossed six innings for the Patriots, allowing seven hits and three runs.
- Elise Kendrick took the win in the circle for Stephens, striking out two while allowing seven hits and one run.
- Mission's season came to a close with a 25-19 mark.
#6-Health Sciences & Pharmacy def. #7-Hannibal-LaGrange, 15-5 (5)
- Alicia Kimble led Health Sciences and Pharmacy with three hits, four runs and an RBI. Hunter Noto and Eva Kameoka each had three hits. Noto also had three runs and four RBI, while Kameoka had two RBI and one run.
- Madilyn Hagood led the Trojans with a hit, two runs and two RBI.
- Trysten Murphy earned the win in the circle with four strikeouts, seven hits and five runs.
- Madyson Klostermann earned the loss after 1.0 innings pitched. She allowed eight hits and seven runs.
- UHSP outhit HLGU, 17-7.
- Hannibal-LaGrange closed their season with an overall record of 12-24.
Day Two
#4-Central Baptist def. #1-Williams Baptist, CBC 3-1
- Taylyn Shuffield and Eden East each had two hits and one run for the Mustangs. Kinley Johnson drove in three runs.
- Brooke Scott was the only Eagle with two hits and Mariah Loya scored a run.
- CBC outhit WBU, 8-5.
- Ryleigh Keele took the win in the circle as she struck out three with five hits and one run.
- In 7.0 innings pitched, Morgan Garner struck out three while allowing eight hits and three runs.
- Central Baptist improved to 29-21 on the season.
#3-Columbia def. #2-Cottey, CC 8-1
- Abigail Zismer, and Kennedy Schanuth each had two hits while Cassidy Avery added three hits for the Cougars. Schanuth added two runs while Laiken Aidich drove in three.
- Makayla Snyder wend 2-for-3 with Grayce Taylor scoring the only run for the Comets.
- CC outhit COT, 12-5.
- Ella Schouten earned the win in the circle. She struck out eight while allowing five hits and one run.
- Addison Tippie pitched 5.1 innings and allowed 10 hits and seven runs as she took the loss in the circle.
- Columbia improved to 25-13 overall on the season.
#2-Cottey vs. #8-Stephens, COT 7-1
- Halen Hoelzeman led the Comets going 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
- Kyndal Vincent added two hits in the Stars lone run, while Landry Bales drove in a run.
- Makayla Snyder added with two hits, two runs and three RBI Alma Garcia went 2-for-2 with two runs.
- COT outhit SC, 13-8.
- Tatianna Colegrove earned the win in the circle for the Comets. In 2.2 innings pitched she allowed five hits and one run.
- Katie Dennis took the loss with seven hits and four runs in 3.2 innings pitched.
- Cottey improved to 34-10 overall.
- Stephens concluded their season with a 11-32 record.
#1-Williams Baptist def. #6-Health Sciences & Pharmacy, 2-0 (13 inn.)
- Both teams remained scoreless until the top of the 13th inning when Mariah Loya and Addison Foster each scored a run. Four Eagles each had two hits. Foster also drove in two runs with a homer.
- Averi Glosemeyer and Alicia Kimble each recorded two hits for the Eutectics.
- Emberlin Caldwell pitched all 13 innings and struck out six while allowing five hits.
- Talianna Joyner pitched 4.0 innings, allowing no hits or runs.
- WBU outhit UHSP, 12-5.
- This is the longest game innings wise in the AMC Softball Tournament.
- The Eagles improved to 41-12.
- UHSP concluded their season with a 19-20 record.
