William Woods is 24th after round one of NAIA Women's Golf National Championships
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – (Results) After one round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Golf National Championships, William Woods sits in 24th-place. The 2019 event is taking place at Lincoln Park Golf Club (West Course) in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Owls shot 322 which was 34-over-par and are six strokes from cracking the top-20. American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women's Golfer of the Year Maria Zrodowska leads William Woods carding a 2-under-par 70, which is tied for second place three-shots off the lead. Zrodowska made four birdies on the round and just two bogeys.
Lucy Matthews shot a 6-over-par 68 which is second on the team and tied for 64th overall, while Paige Hawkins (13-over-par 85), Krystal Burgtorf (17-over-par 89) and Kelsey Moreland (20-over-par 92) rounds out the team scores for William Woods.
The Owls will tee off round No. 2 on Wednesday at 8:10 AM from hole No. 1.
Oklahoma City currently leads the team leaderboard after shooting a 1-under-par 287 on the first 18 holes.
