AMC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - No. 3 (Jan. 24)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Ally Swaim (Central Baptist) and Katie French (William Woods) were chosen as the American Midwest Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday for their performances over the weekend.

AMC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Ally Swaim, Central Baptist
Jr. | Vilonia Ark.

• Placed second out of 15 in the 60m hurdles at the NAIA/JUCO Invitational
• Finished the race in 9.08 to qualify for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships with the NAIA B standard
• Became the first indoor athlete to qualify for nationals in CBC history

AMC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Katie French, William Woods
Sr. | Marshfield, Mo.

• Placed in the top-10 in two events at the Northwest Open
• Notched a 12.51m throw in the shot put to finish fifth of 37
• Earned an eighth place finish out of 39 in the weight throw with a 14.73m mark

  • Kyla Bertschinger, Columbia (Mo.): Finished second in the one mile run and seventh in the 800m, setting personal bests for both events
• Field
  • Hannah Baker, Williams Baptist (Ark.): Finished third in the weight throw (14.37m) and fourth in the shot put (11.14m) at the NAIA/JUCO Invitational
