AMC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - No. 4 (Jan. 31)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Emily Bayer (Missouri Baptist) and Katie French (William Woods) turned in impressive outings over the weekend to earn American Midwest Conference athlete of the week awards on Monday.

AMC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Bayer, Missouri Baptist
Sr. | Imperial, Mo.

• Won a pair of events at the Principia College Relays
• Earned the gold in the one-mile run, hitting the NAIA B standard with a 5:15.63 finishing time to qualify for nationals
• Helped the Spartans earn the win in the distance medley relay after running a 5:17.95 in the first leg of the event

AMC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Katie French, William Woods
Sr. | Marshfield, Mo.

• Placed in the top-five in two events at the UCM Mule Relays
• Took home the silver in the shot put with a 12.95m effort
• Placed fourth of 23 after a 14.94m toss in the weight throw

• Track
  • Ally Swaim, Central Baptist (Ark.): Hit the NAIA B standard in the 60-meter hurdles to beat the other five competitors in the event
• Field
  • Gabrielle Morgan, Health Sciences & Pharmacy (Mo.): Placed second and broke the UHSP record for indoor shot put with a 11.77m effort at the Principia College Relays
