AMC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - No. 5 (Feb. 7)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Emily Bayer from Missouri Baptist and Kaylyn Powers from Hannibal-LaGrange were selected as the American Midwest Conference Athletes of the Week after impressive performances on Saturday.

AMC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Bayer, Missouri Baptist
Sr. | Imperial, Mo.

• Placed fifth of 32 and hit the NAIA A standard in the 3000m run with a 10:21.10 finishing time
• Served as the anchor in the 4x800 to help the Spartans finish second with a time of 9:42.88

AMC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Kaylyn Powers, Hannibal-LaGrange
Fr. | Hermann, Mo.

• Finished top-five in a pair of events at the DePauw Indoor Invite
• Set a school record and personal record with a 13.23m effort in the weight throw, good for second place
• Came in fifth of 16 in the shot put with a mark of 10.99m

  • Karoline Kolie, Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.): Took home the gold in the 400m run by completing the race in 1:04

  • Alaina Scott, Missouri Baptist: Matched a career-best in the pole vault with a 2.82m performance
