ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Emily Bayer (Missouri Baptist) and Katie French (William Woods) won weekly awards again on Monday after qualifying for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in their respective events.

AMC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Bayer, Missouri Baptist
Sr. | Imperial, Mo.
  • Led the Spartans to the NAIA 'A' standard in the 4000m Distance Medley Relay, clearing the qualifying mark by six seconds at the PSU Indoor Gorilla Classic (12:19.76)
  • Tallied another NAIA 'A' standard on day two of the meet, finishing the one mile run in 5:06.58
  • The Spartans' DMR time currently ranks 11th in the NAIA and her one-mile time ranks 16th

AMC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Katie French, William Woods
Sr. | Marshfield, Mo.
  • Won the shot put and weight throw events at the Fighting Scots Indoor Meet
  • Hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the shot put with a 13.84m toss to best the other 24 competitors
  • Posted a dominating weight throw performance, hitting the NAIA 'A' standard for the event with a 16.27m effort
  • Both marks are new personal bests

    • Nia Hawkins, William Woods (Mo.): Recorded three top-two finishes at the Fighting Scots Indoor Meet including a win in the long jump and a personal best 10.11m effort in the triple jump
