AMC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Week 3

St. Louis, Mo. - Missouri Baptist University's Angela Ward (Track) and Hannibal-Lagrange University's Kaylyn Powers (Field) have been selected as the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women's Indoor Athletes of the Week. They were selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performances from Jan. 15-21 and chosen through a vote of Sports Information Directors from around the AMC.
AMC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Angela Ward, Missouri Baptist
Fr. | Barnhart, Mo.
- Placed eighth in a field of 36 in the 400-meter run (1:01.17) at the NAIA / JUCO Challenge.
- Set a PR and shaved more than two seconds of her time from her last meet.
- Her performance puts her first in the AMC for the 400-meter run.
- First AMC Athlete of the Week Honor.
Other Notable Performances:
- Mekayla Gibson, William Woods- Finished fourth in a field of 39 athletes and set PR in the one-mile run (5:17.89), also registered a school record.

AMC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Kaylyn Powers, Hannibal-LaGrange

- Placed second in a field of 18 athletes in the weighted throw (14.99m) at Illinois College Snowbird.
- Finished fourth in a field of 23 athletes in the shot put (12.07).
- Her performance put her first in the AMC for shot put and weighted throw.
- First AMC Athlete of the Week Honor.
