Fifteen AMC Athletes and Two Relay Teams Set to Compete at NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships

Marion, Ind.- The American Midwest Conference will be well represented at the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Marion, Ind., as fifteen athletes and two relay teams have qualified for the Championships on May 22-24, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
Missouri Baptist will bring an AMC-best six athletes to the Championships. Emily Farchmin (1500-m), Mia Reed (3000-meter steeplechase), Adrienne Rockette (3000-meter steeplechase), and Alaina Scott (pole vault) qualified on the women's side. Donovan Denslow (5000-m) and Mayson DeRousse (pole vault) qualified for the men.
With five qualifiers, Columbia is sending the second largest group from the AMC as Gavin Frantz (hammer), Kenny Miller (discus), Jason Parker (high jump), the men's 4x800 relay team and Madeline Burton (javelin) will be competing for the Cougars.
William Woods has a trio of qualifiers - their men's 4x800m relay team, Landon Dunlap (1500m), and Natalie Thomas (javelin).
Isaiah Hoelscher from Hannibal-LaGrange (hammer), Charles Mason from Haskell Indian Nations (shot put), and Madalenn Fee from Cottey (3000-meter steeplechase) have also qualified for the National Championships.
Eight of the 15 individuals to qualify have competed in the same events at previous National Championships. Thomas is now a four-time qualifier in the javelin, including an All-American sixth-place finish in 2022. Burton and Reed are qualifying for the third time in the javelin and steeplechase, respectively. DeRousse was a 2022 pole vault All-American with a fourth-place finish. Fee, Frantz and Miller return to the National Championships for the second consecutive year, while Farchmin qualified for the 1500-meters in 2022.
Farchmin and Denslow previously qualified for Nationals in different events from their 2024 qualification, Farchmin in the steeplechase in 2021 and Denslow in the 10,000-meters last year.

DeRousse (5.02m in pole vault) and Reed's (10:41.55 in 3000 steeple chase) qualifying marks rank third among 24 and 25 qualifiers in the events, respectively. Frantz's qualifying throw of 57.92m in the hammer throw is eighth among 28 qualifiers, and Miller's 51.17m qualifying mark in the discus is ninth of 30 qualifiers.
