AMC Volleyball Tournament Preview

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – (TOURNAMENT PAGE) The 2025 American Midwest Conference (AMC) Volleyball Tournament is Friday and Saturday (Nov. 14-15) at the Bradley Beal Center in Chesterfield, Mo.   

2025 marks the first time the entire Tournament will be held at a single, neutral site. Quarterfinal matches are set for Friday at 10 am and 1 pm on two courts each, with the semifinal matches to follow at 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm. The Championship match is set for noon on Saturday. 

Match One: (1) Columbia vs. (8) Health Sciences & Pharmacy – 10:00 AM 

  • Columbia College enters the tournament with a 20–14 overall record and a dominant 17–1 mark in AMC play. 

  • The Cougars captured their 24th regular season title and are seeking their 24th tournament crown. 

  • Columbia is currently on a six-match winning streak. 

  • Health Sciences & Pharmacy finished the regular season 7–27 overall and 6–12 in conference play. 

  • The Cougars swept Health Sciences & Pharmacy in both regular-season meetings. 

  • Taylor Johnson from Columbia ranks third in the conference in both digs per set (4.40) and total digs (506). 2025 AMC Freshman of the Year Kenedi Canty ranks third in blocks per set (0.91) and fifth in hitting percentage (.259). 

  • Jenna Brinson from UHSP is ranked second in assists per set with 8.53, while MaKenzie Uribe ranks third in both digs per set (4.29) and total digs (481). 

Match Two: (4) Mission vs. (5) Central Baptist – 10:00 AM 

  • Both Mission University and Central Baptist College are aiming for their first-ever AMC tournament title. 

  • Mission holds a 15–18 overall record with an 11–7 conference mark. 

  • The Patriots are on a five-match winning streak. 

  • Central Baptist finished 9–23 overall and 8–10 in AMC play. 

  • Mission swept Central Baptist in their first meeting and won in four sets in the second matchup. 

  • Rylea King from MU ranks fourth in the conference in total digs (397) and fifth in digs per set (3.58). Hannah Maxwell ranks third in assists per set (8.11). 

  • Avary Smith from CBC ranks fourth in kills per set (2.61). 

Match Three: (3) Crowley’s Ridge vs. (6) Cottey – 1:00 PM 

  • Crowley’s Ridge College and Cottey College are both seeking their first AMC tournament championship. 

  • Crowley’s Ridge posted a 17–20 overall record with a strong 14–4 conference performance. 

  • Cottey ended the regular season at 17–19 overall and 8–10 in AMC play. 

  • Crowley’s Ridge earned a four-set win in their first meeting and followed with a sweep in the second. 

  • Brooklyn Cross from CRC ranks second in the conference in total kills (347) and fourth in hitting percentage (.287). 2025 AMC Newcomer of the Year Amiyah Saxton ranks second in blocks per set (1.02) and third in hitting percentage (.330). Jillian Glasgow averages 0.44 service aces per set, ranking fourth in the conference. 

  • Magdalen Dougherty from Cottey ranks second in service aces per set (0.46) and kills per set (2.72), and third in total kills (340). Saylah Rea averages 5.30 assists per set, ranking fourth in the conference. 

Match Four: (2) Stephens vs. (7) Harris-Stowe – 1:00 PM 

  • Both Stephens College and Harris-Stowe State University are looking for their first AMC tournament title. 

  • Stephens boasts a 24–12 overall record and an impressive 16–2 conference record. 

  • Harris-Stowe finished the regular season 11–17 overall and 8–10 in AMC competition. 

  • The Stars swept both regular season matches against the Hornets. 

  • 2025 AMC Player and Defensive Player of the Year Jatnna Pena-Perez from Stephens ranks 18th nationally in total digs (556) and 20th in digs per set (5.35), leading the conference in both categories. 2025 AMC Attacker of the Year Lena Hunziker ranks 16th nationally in service aces per set (0.57) and 19th in total kills (400), also leading the conference. 2025 AMC Setter of the Year Emma Whiston ranks 21st nationally in assists per set (9.65), leading the conference, and Fernanda Izar ranks 17th nationally in hitting percentage (.376), also topping the conference. 

  • Jehireh Williams ranks eighth nationally in blocks per set (1.33) and 16th in total blocks (124), leading the conference in both categories.
