ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) was named an NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Conference honors by the NAIA National Office on Monday afternoon.
Each year, every NAIA school and conference demonstrates its progress in pursuing character-driven athletics. The Champions of Character® Scorecard measures growth in training, promotion, conduct in competition and commitment in five key areas with a possibility of earning 100 points. Institutions are recognized as Champions of Character® Five-Star Institutions at three different levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Central Baptist, Columbia, Cottey, Harris-Stowe, Missouri Baptist, Stephens, Health Sciences & Pharmacy, Williams Baptist earned gold status. Crowley’s Ridge, Hannibal-LaGrange and William Woods were named silver institutions, while Mission achieved bronze status. The results are based on the 2024-25 academic year.
To be named a Five-Star Conference, the following criteria must be met:
- Established Champions of Character Conference Committee
- Conference has a conduct in competition oversight committee composed of a minimum of three members
- At least 60% of member institutions must receive the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award.
